A team of 12 lawyers from Maclay Murray and Spens (MMS) is to take part next month in a 75km mountain trek over the Alps to raise money for charity.
The Hannibal Challenge recreates the feat undertaken by the Carthaginian general who took his army of soldiers and elephants across the mountains in 218 BC to attack Rome. A total of nearly 200 people will undertake the challenge, which involves climbing to over 3,000 metres.
The walk is organised by David Fox-Pitt, who also organises the annual Caledonian Challenge along the West Highland Way. The money raised will go to the Fredericks Challenge, a charity that helps disadvantaged people become financially independent.
One of the MMS team is commercial litigation and advocacy partner David Leckie, whose brother Ross wrote a novel about Hannibal's crossing which has been made into a Hollywood film to be released next year.
The challenge takes place between 23-24 September and Mr Leckie is encouraging other firms to take part.
