HBJ Gateley Wareing appoints employment partner

Robert King joins from BT's in-house legal team

Robert King has been appointed as a new partner to the Glasgow office of HBJ Gateley Wareing.

Mr King previously worked for 14 years with BT's in-house legal team in Glasgow. In his new role he will lead HBJ's employment operation in the city.

Earlier this year, the firm, formed from the merger of Scots firm Henderson Boyd Jackson and English firm Gateley Wareing, was the first to be appointed to BT's core legal panel for litigation, property, corporate and commercial work on both sides of the border.

Senior partner Malcolm McPherson said: “We are delighted Robert has chosen to join us. He is a leading authority on employment issues and brings with him invaluable expertise that will help us work more closely with BT, develop the synergies between the two organisations and build the core strengths of the employment department to drive future growth in the Glasgow office”.
