Lord Fraser arrested after flight from London to Dundee

A former Lord Advocate has been charged with disrupting a flight from London to Dundee.

Lord Fraser of Carmyllie was met by police when the flight landed at Dundee on Tuesday night and taken to Dundee Police Headquarters where he was arrested and charged.

Police sources confirmed that Lord Fraser has been reported to the procurator fiscal for an alleged offence under section 78 of the Air Navigation Order 2005, which forbids the use of threatening or abusive languagae towards members of the aircraft crew or behaving in a disorderly way.

The Conservative peer was Lord Advocate frpom 1989 to 1992. The 61-year-old lives in Carmyllie, but travels regularly to London on business.
