Bird Semple launch "AgeCare" service

Details of care homes and other services available to clients through website

Private client solicitors Bird Semple have launched AgeCare®, a new service intended to assist older clients and their families.

The website-based service, understood to be the only one of its type in Scotland, offers information about care homes - residential and nursing homes, whether private or local authority - and the services provided by each, throughout the west of Scotland. It also offers information on agencies that provide care and other services that can be accessed by individuals in their own homes.

AgeCare ® aims to provide detailed information to enable individuals or their families to make informed choices for their own or their relative’s care, on matters such as policies on taking pets into a care home, weekly costs, or the availability of specialist nursing care.

The website will initially be available to Bird Semple clients only, though the Glasgow firm aims to make it available to a wider audience over the internet, for a nominal fee, within the next 12 months.

Bird Semple Managing Partner Frank Fletcher commented: “We know that this information is not available elsewhere in such a comprehensive and systematic fashion. AgeCare ® should be seen as the first port of call in a search for suitable care, whether in your own home or in a residential setting. We are confident that our clients will benefit greatly from having this service available to them at no additional cost.”
