Full service ethos underpins strong growth

Anderson Strathern has announced an 11% rise in turnover to over £15.5 million for the year 2005-06.

The Edinburgh-based firm, which opened a Glasgow office in October 2005, has averaged 12% annual growth since the merger which created the firm in 1992, and has set targets for that to continue.

Committed to a full service strategy, Anderson Strathern prides itself on high levels of client retention. Recent new client wins include the University of Stirling, INEOS Manufacturing Scotland Ltd at Grangemouth, Scottish and Southern Energy, and Peel Ports. The firm also retained the Crown Estate portfolio after a further tender round, and advised clients in over £1 billion of transport projects securing approval from the Scottish Parliament.

Robert Carr, chairman of Anderson Strathern said: “We are delighted at these results. This development is fuelled in no small part by our commitment to and belief in the full service offering that we provide to our clients.

“Our 10 largest clients are serviced on average by six departments each. We have a unique ability in the Scottish market to serve highly sophisticated clients across a broad range of legal specialisms. We have increased that range over the past number of years, with notable performers including the Parliamentary and Public Law Team, the Private Client Department and our burgeoning Insurance Litigation Team."

The new Glasgow office has grown rapidly and will shortly be moving to larger premises.

Managing partner Robin Stimpson added that the firm prided itself in its low turnover of staff and collegiate atmosphere.
