HBJ Gateley Wareing, Tods Murray, Maxwell Maclaurin and Turcan Connell new appointments

This week sees another raft of appointments for Scottish law firms.

HBJ Gateley Wareing has appointed Andrew Laird from Tods Murray and Dale Ross from Gillespie McAndrew as senior associates in its private client and financial services group in the firm's Edinburgh office.

Mr Laird specialises in tax, trust and succession planning, with particular expertise in inheritance and capital gains tax issues for both individuals and trustees. Mr Ross who was trusts and executry manager at Gillespie McAndrew, specialises in asset protection, providing tax, trust and succession planning for non-domicile and domestically based families and individuals.

Nicola Dagg has been promoted to an associate at Tods Murray. She specialises in commercial property.

At Turcan Connell, investment managers James Osborne and Judy Good have both been promoted to senior investment managers.

Phyllis Stephen, a sole practitioner in Bo'ness, will join the Edinburgh office of Maxwell Maclaurin on 2 April as a partner.
