Partnership for Vass and nine new associates

Maclay Murray & Spens has announced the promotion of a new Aberdeen-based partner – Uisdean Vass, head of the firm's oil and gas team. Mr Vass joined MMS three years ago and has built up the firm's capability in oil and gas in its growing Aberdeen office.

In addition, the firm has promoted nine solicitors to associate: Malcolm Gunnyeon, commercial litigation and advocacy (Aberdeen); Euan Palmer, commercial litigation and advocacy (London); Stephen Hart, corporate (Edinburgh); Heather Smith, corporate (Glasgow); Juliet Bayne, pensions (London); Simon Cosgrove, IP & technology (London); Susie Cowan, private client (Glasgow); Virginia McGregor, planning & environment (Edinburgh); Lorna Tutty, tax (Glasgow).

Describing the promotions as "well deserved", Magnus Swanson, chief executive of MMS, said: “The appointments cover all of our geographical locations and a wide range of departments and are a reflection of our robust performance and confidence in the future.”
