A former international cricketer and broadcaster has been appointed to Tods Murray LLP's sports law team.
The Edinburgh and Glasgow based firm hopes to capitalise on Paul Allott's expertise and knowledge of sport beyond cricket as well as his experience in the media side of the sports industry, in the promotion and growth of its Sports Law Team.
Paul Allott played cricket 26 times for England in tests and one-day internationals, and appeared in two Ashes-winning series against Australia. He is also among a select band of bowlers who have taken over 500 first class wickets for Lancashire.
Since retiring from professional cricket, he has worked for the BBC, been a member of the Test Match Special team on BBC Radio and for the past 10 years, an integral part of the Sky Sports cricket commentary team, for whom he covered the recent Cricket World Cup.
Tods Murray’s executive partner, Peter Misselbrook, said: “Paul’s appointment will be invaluable in further developing our sports law team, bringing to the team the insight of a professional sportsman. We are delighted to welcome him to our firm and look forward to working with him.”
