Promotions for Alastair Johnston and Barry Love

Semple Fraser has promoted two of its senior fee-earners - Alastair Johnston and Barry Love.

Mr Johnston, who has been with the firm for the past two years, is now head of tax. He recently played a significant part in the development and implementation of offshore tax structures, and he has acted for clientsincluding Tesco Stores Ltd, The Unite Group plc, Kenmore Group and Phoenix Life Assurance.

Mr Love, a member of the waste and extractive industry group, has been promoted to partner, taking the number of partners in the firm to 25. An expert in the field of environment and pollution law, Mr Love's particular specialism is challenging the regular misapplication of EU environmental law in the UK. His clients include WWF, Marathon Oil, OSS Group, Alfred McAlpine plc, the Kier Group and KMC Oiltools.
