McGrigors launch UK housebuilding unit

Aberdeen-based John Curran to head up 18-strong team


Law firm McGrigors has launched a UK-wide housebuilding practice to advise clients throughout the life cycle of projects.

The 18-strong Housebuilding Unit (UK) will be led by John Curran, a partner based in the Aberdeen office who has more than 20 years’ experience in the housebuilding sector. The group has expertise in the acquisition and development of complex mixed-use sites; the establishment of joint ventures; plot sales and the disposal of parts of sites to housing associations; and the disposal of residential development sites on behalf of institutions and private landowners.

Mr Curran said: “McGrigors represents a wide range of clients in this sector and with this launch will be harnessing the skills of our specialists for the benefit of our current and future clients.”

Current clients in land transactions include Cala Group, Cruden Holdings (West) Ltd, George Wimpey East Scotland Ltd, Glasgow Harbour Ltd and University of Aberdeen.
