Vincent Connor joins Globalscot to promote Scottish economic growth

Pinsent Masons' Asia Pacific Managing Partner Vincent Connor is to join Globalscot, the select group of international business leaders committed to advancing Scotland's success around the world.

Mr Connor, who moved to Hong Kong in May of this year from leading the Scottish arm of his firm, accepted the invitation to join the group from First Minister Alex Salmond.

Globalscot comprises more than 900 senior influential business leaders committed to the growth of the Scottish economy. Members share their knowledge, expertise and connections with ambitious Scottish companies to help them maximise their growth potential. Mr Connor is a recognised expert in dispute resolution in the construction and infrastructure sector.

In addition to offices in seven UK cities, Pinsent Masons is based in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Dubai and Brussels, and through the Pinsent Masons Luther Group is allied to independent law firms in Europe.

Mr Connor said: "I am privileged to join this prestigious group of fellow Scots, and to represent my homeland in this part of the world. When making my move to Asia, I was keen to build on my 20 years' experience of working with clients in the Scottish market by seeking to support Scottish companies seizing the opportunity to set up or expand in China and other parts of this fast-growing region. Becoming a Globalscot will help me make that contribution."
