Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace in two stage expansion plan
Aberdeen legal firm Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace is about to complete the first part of a two phase project to extend its city centre headquarters in response to increased business.
A £250,000, 200 square metre extension is currently being completed at the firm’s main office, 12-16 Albyn Place. The first staff will move in shortly to the eight new offices, created along with work spaces for two administrative employees, four support staff and an extensive archive area.
The second phase, for which a planning application has still to be submitted, would entail converting an existing single storey extension into a two storey building through an innovative modern design intended to compliment the traditional office - itself an amalgamation of two neighbouring offices carried out since the 2004 merger that created the firm.
Managing partner, Mike Taylor, said: “Since the merger between Raeburn Christie and Clark and Wallace in 2004, our business as a whole has grown significantly and we are simply running out of room. The current extension will ensure our existing employees have more space to operate in and will also provide us with capacity to continue to recruit further personnel as we require.”
The firm, which also has offices in Inverurie, Stonehaven, Banchory and Ellon as well as a separate property shop in Aberdeen, currently employs 175 people, around 100 of them in Albyn Place.
