Cumbernauld lawyer will serve until May 2009
Cumbernauld solicitor Ian Smart has been elected Vice President of the Law Society of Scotland, it was announced today.
Mr Smart, sole principal of Ian S Smart & Co, represents the Sheriff Court District of Airdrie on the Society's Council. A general practitioner and legal aid lawyer, he fills the vacancy caused by the early election as President of Richard Henderson following the resignation of John MacKinnon.
He took up office immediately today and will serve until May 2009.
