Scotland's first careers product for undergraduates interested in a legal career has been launched by careers publisher GTI, supported by the Society

Scotland’s first careers product for undergraduates interested in a legal career has been launched by international careers publisher Group GTI, supported by the Law Society of Scotland.

Distributed to law careers fairs, law departments and faculties, TARGETjobs Law Scotland aims to provide Scottish students with the information they need to choose the right law firms, make informed applications and succeed in interviews. Up to now, Scottish students have had easy access to more than a dozen careers products promoting careers in England and Wales. The new venture helps to redress the balance, recognising the importance of a vibrant legal community in a devolving country.

Collette Paterson, the Society’s New Lawyers’ Coordinator, said:
“In 2007 the Society has a new focus on supporting the next generation of Scottish solicitors, and this publication fits in with our work in this area. Scotland’s law students deserve their careers queries to be answered in the context of the Scottish legal profession. This publication has plugged a gap that has clearly existed in Scotland over the years.”

The publication is complemented by an online information resource at targetjobs.co.uk/lawscotland
