Lock up your lawyers

Charity seeks willing volunteers for "Jail and Bail" event
The jail – something most lawyers are keen to avoid at all costs, but why not get locked up this month for a good cause?
On 22 November, NCH Scotland, the children’s charity, will be holding a “Jail and Bail” fundraising event at Glasgow City Chambers. The event will raise vital funds to support vulnerable children and young people.
The idea of “Jail and Bail” is that a number of local celebrities, dignitaries, politicians and other prominent community figures will be arrested on trumped up charges (all arranged in advance).
They will then be transported to “jail” where they will be given more than the usual one phone call to contact friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances for pledges of bail money. The plush City Chambers will serve as the jail location - after a photo session at Old Govan Jail.
Funds raised will go towards NCH Scotland's new Growing Strong appeal, which aims to raise £500,000 to ensure that all the children and young people NCH Scotland works with can grow strong, emotionally, mentally and spiritually as well as physically.
If you would like to take part or find out more about the event, contact NCH community fundraiser Clare Pieroni on 0141 550 9023 or email clare.pieroni@nch.org.uk .
