North east firm raises money for local charity

Year-long effort by Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace reaps rewards

Employees from a north-east law firm have raised almost £2,000 for a local social care charity after a year of fundraising.

Over the course of 2007, Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace raised £1,847 for VSA, which provides social care services for individuals and families in the Aberdeen area. Staff held soup and sandwich lunches, raffles, cartoon quizzes and cake and bake mornings with all proceeds raised being donated to VSA.

Five daredevil members of staff undertook a more extreme challenge, taking part in a suspended catch air device (SCAD) jump which raised more than £750 for the organisation.

Shona Cheyne, human resources manager at Raeburns and one of the firm’s charity committee, said: “We decided to raise funds for a local charity rather than a national organisation and it’s great to know that the money will be used to help people in the local community.”

Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace has its main office in Aberdeen and branches in Stonehaven, Banchory, Ellon and Inverurie.
