Chairman elected for Faculty Services Ltd

Alan Summers takes charge of advocates' business support organisation

Alan Summers has been elected as the new chairman of Faculty Services Ltd. He succeeds Susan O'Brien QC.

Mr Summers (43) has been at the bar since 1994 and is currently representing the UK Government in the Lockerbie appeal. He has also appeared in several human rights cases and represented the Scottish Executive in a number of mental health appeals.

Faculty Services Ltd provides business support for advocates, including the organisation of their diaries and the negotiation and collection of fees.
