Child law centre takes on new director

The Scottish Child Law Centre has a new director, Morag Driscoll.

Ms Driscoll, who took up her post this week, was a solicitor in private practice in the Borders before becoming a reporter to the children's panel in 2004. She is a former member of the Council of the Law Society of Scotland and is currently convener of the Society's Family Law Committee.

The Scottish Child Law Centre in Edinburgh provides advice and information directly to children and young people about their rights and how the law affects them through a free advice service by telephone (0800 328 8970), email ( and text message (text "SCLC" and a query to 80800).

Ms Driscoll said: “The Scottish Child Law Centre plays an important role in the promotion of children’s rights in Scotland and I am delighted to have this opportunity. I look forward to the challenge of expanding and building upon the services provided to the young people of Scotland.”
