Zosia Fraser's embezzlement had "brought the profession into disrepute"
A solicitor who embezzled more than £1,000 from the firm where she worked has been struck off.
Zosia Fraser, 30, was sentenced to 160 hours of community service last year after admitting taking the money from the Dundee firm Muir, Myles & Laverty between April 2003 and June 2004. However, she had continued to work at another law practice for two years afterwards.
The Council of the Law Society of Scotland took the case to the Scottish Solicitors' Discipline Tribunal. The tribunal's vice chairman Kenneth Robb said Ms Fraser's conduct had brought the profession into dispute and as such, she could not continue as a lawyer.
