Controversial legal IT guru Richard Susskind is the keynote speaker at this year’s Law Society of Scotland’s conference, entitled "The Legal Profession in Five Years' Time", at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh on 23 May.
The author of the forthcoming The End of Lawyers? Rethinking the Nature of Legal Services is just one of the speakers at the event who will be looking ahead to the future of the legal profession in Scotland.
The programme also covers the latest developments in domestic conveyancing, high street chamber practice, criminal justice regulation, civil litigation, PPP, paralegals, legal education, legal aid practice, and affecting the judiciary.
The day will combine a mix of plenary sessions with breakout and discussion sessions. Delegates gain seven hours towards continuing professional development.
The conference will be followed by a special charity dinner, with after dinner speaker Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, in Edinburgh’s Mansfield Traquair.
Intending delegates can register through the Update section of the Society's website www.lawscot.org.uk .
