Glasgow family law team for HBJ Gateley Wareing

Firm launches practice to match up east and west capabilities

HBJ Gateley Wareing has launched a Glasgow family law practice with the hire of Sara Matheson and Shona Templeton from Matheson Ritchie.

The pair join Cath Karlin’s team along with Levy & McRae senior associate Carolyn MacBride.

Glen Gilson, head of HBJ’s private client and financial services practice, said: “We have recruited in Glasgow to ensure symmetrical capabilities across the east and west of Scotland in what is a core offering of the firm.

"It is quite significant - to have a family law team with four senior personnel is unusual, but the growth we’ve experienced certainly warrants it."

The firm's private client team has grown from four lawyers to 10 partners and over 50 fee-earners in less than four years, and is now HBJ’s largest in Scotland, both by revenue and headcount.
