International law firm Pinsent Masons, which has Scottish offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, broke the £200m fee-income barrier for the first time last year as revenues jumped by £21 million to £213 million.
The firm reports healthy growth in all areas of the business despite the effect of the credit crunch on the economic environment, with particularly strong gains in property, corporate, and dispute resolution and litigation, followed by projects and transactional work, and banking and insurance. Over the four-year period since the merger to create Pinsent Masons, fee-income has increased over 40%.
Profit per equity partner is expected to be close to £500,000, up from £471,000 last year.
This growth was achieved at a time when the firm is continuing to invest heavily in its infrastructure including doubling its office space in Glasgow, moving to new premises in Manchester, and opening new offices in Dubai.
Head of Pinsent Masons' Scottish offices, Fraser McMillan said: "Our growth in Scotland has more than kept pace with the firm as a whole and the figures are a testament to our growing reputation for excellence in Scotland, the UK and internationally."
