Brechin Tindal Oatts re-brands as bto

The central belt law firm Brechin Tindal Oatts has adopted a new internal structure and has re-branded itself as "bto".

The new internal structure is aimed at making the firm more "corporate". Willie Young, formerly managing partner, is now chairman of the firm and Douglas Cowie has been appointed as its first ever chief executive.

In addition, two new partners have been appointed – Wendy Thomson has been promoted in the dispute resolution team in Edinburgh, and Ralph Riddiough (corporate) has joined the firm from MacRoberts.

The firm decided on the new name "bto" as many clients have used this form of address for years. Now, the bto acronym will feature on all of the firm’s stationery, marketing literature and their new website.

Willie Young said: “Wendy is a welcome addition to the partnership, our sixth partner qualified as a solicitor advocate, and Ralph’s skills and experience will be an asset to our corporate clients. I am also delighted with our new appearance as it emphasises bto’s culture of transparency and straightforwardness.”
