Society moves towards using email as the primary means of communication with members

The Society is moving quickly to using email as the primary means of communication with members, in line with the President’s key theme of improving communication within the profession.

The Society now has email addresses for 75% of its members. This allowed the President to email members in connection with the Legal Profession Bill and the AGM, which generated very positive feedback. As well as offering significant cost savings and being environmentally friendly, email provides timely information and encourages direct responses.

The Society intends to extend the service and issue regular bulletins. If any member has supplied the Society with an email address but has not received any email from the Society or requires further information, contact records@lawscot.org.uk or the Records Office on 0131 476 8179.

Those without email will still receive information by post.

Email is used purely for official Society communications and is not passed on to any third party for marketing purposes. All Society emails are issued from the address thelawsocietyofscotland@lawscot.org.uk.

Your email system may need adjusted to avoid emails from this address being rejected as spam.
