Clancy gives voice to IBA

The Society's Michael Clancy has been appointed to posts within the International Bar Association


Michael Clancy, Director of  the Society’s Law Reform Department, has been appointed chair of the International Bar Association’s Professional Conduct Committee, which addresses issues relating to the conduct of members.

He has also been appointed to sit on the Credentials Committee and the Nominations Committee.

The former gives membership advice and the latter makes recommendations on who should be nominated for election as IBA officers.

Michael is also an Officer at Large of the IBA Bar Issues Commission.

Michael Clancy said: “The IBA is the voice of the profession around the world and I am privileged to take a more active involvement in its activities.

“Taking up the role of chair of the Professional Conduct Committee, in particular, will allow me to contribute to the IBA’s efforts to help maintain professional standards throughout the world.”
