Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

ADDLESHAW GODDARD, Edinburgh, Glasgow and elsewhere, has appointed Euan Fleming as a director in its private capital practice, based in the Edinburgh office. He joins from BRODIES LLP.

ALLAN McDOUGALL, Edinburgh, Dalkeith and Penicuik, has appointed Emily Allan as an associate in the Family Law team, joining from AITKEN NAIRN and based at the firm’s principal office at 3 Coates Crescent, Edinburgh.

Allan McDougall also announce that, after 32 years, David Nicol stepped down as a partner at the end of September. He continues with the firm as a consultant.

ANDERSON STRATHERN, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Haddington, has appointed Iain Grieve, who is dual qualified in England & Wales, as a partner in its Commercial Real Estate team. He joins from HBJ GATELEY (now ADDLESHAW GODDARD).

BARNETTS SOLICITORS, Kilmarnock are pleased to announce that Mark McMillan has been promoted to partner with effect from 1 October 2017. 

BOYD LEGAL, Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy and Glasgow, has appointed Nigel Geddes, formerly managing partner of his own firm NCG SOLICITORS, as senior solicitor heading the Conveyancing team in its Kirkcaldy office. 

GILLESPIE MACANDREW, Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow, has appointed chartered tax advisers Anne Marie Renz as tax director and Alison Pryde as senior tax manager in its Tax & Private Client team.

HARPER MACLEOD, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Lerwick, has appointed Karen Gibbons as a partner in its family law team, based in the firm’s Edinburgh office at Citypoint, Haymarket. An accredited family law specialist and dual qualified in Scots and English law, she was previously with BALFOUR & MANSON LLP.

Harper Macleod also announces the appointment to its Inverness office of Louise Torr, solicitor in the corporate team and Angus Brown as a newly qualified solicitor in dispute resolution, both of whom move from its Glasgow office, along with Angela Gray (rural, energy and particularly crofting work) and Elizabeth Wilson (estate agency), both of whom join the firm as newly qualified solicitors.

KENNEDYS, Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere, announces the appointment of Peter Demick, previously with BRODIES, as a partner based in its Edinburgh Quay office.

THE McKINSTRY COMPANY, Ayr and Girvan, has appointed commercial property solicitor Robin Corbett as a consultant in its Property department. He was formerly a partner with MACROBERTS, and before that with DWF.

MACROBERTS, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee, has appointed Marika Franceschi as a partner in its Family Law team. She joins from SHOOSMITHS.

MILLAR & BRYCE, the land and property search organisation, has appointed Katie McKenna, solicitor, along with Sandra Genese, as business development managers. Katie McKenna joins from DIGBY BROWN, where she coordinated the Compensate Personal Injury Network.

MORISONS SOLICITORS, Glasgow and Edinburgh, has appointed Stephen Clark, previously with MBM COMMERCIAL, as a senior associate in the Business team based in Edinburgh, and Jacqueline Tainsh, previously with HARPER MACLEOD, as a senior solicitor within the firm’s Private Client team.

RAEBURN CHRISTIE CLARK & WALLACE, Aberdeen, Ellon, Banchory, Inverurie and Stonehaven, has announced the appointment of two new solicitors to the firm. Annabelle Gow joins the Private Client team at Albyn Place, Aberdeen, from STEWART & WATSON, Turriff, and recently qualified solicitor Gordon Stevenson has joined the firm’s Banchory branch.
