Partner and solicitor appointments for city firm

Edinburgh law firm Gillespie Macandrew has appointed Kirsty Macpherson as a partner, taking the firm's partner total to 22.

Ms Macpherson, who specialises in lending and security law and the renewable energy sector, joined the firm in 2002. She is also convener of the firm’s secured lending group and a member of the board for the women in business group of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

Derek McCulloch, Gillespie Macandrew's head of commercial, said: “Kirsty is already a valuable member of our key client investment team within commercial property. Her experience with us over the past five years in major brownfield, secured lending and renewable energy deals, together with her client relationship skills, has allowed us to make this promotion within our growing practice.”

In addition, the firm has appointed Hazel Tait as a solicitor in its commercial property team. She joins from Harper McLeod and will also take on the role of convener of the firm’s renewable energy group.
