Borders district fiscal appointed

Morag McLintock has been appointed as the new district procurator fiscal for the Borders, the Lord Advocate announced today.

Ms McLintock, who most recently worked as senior procurator fiscal depute in Greenock, will now oversee prosecutions in Duns, Selkirk, Peebles and Jedburgh Sheriff Courts. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2002, she joined the prosecution service in 2004 as a depute in Glasgow East Division and remained in this post until October 2008, when she was appointed to her role in Greenock.

She takes up her post today, 29 June, succeeding Vikki Welton, who has moved to Edinburgh.

Ms McLintock said: "I am delighted to be given this opportunity to lead the prosecution team in the Borders and welcome the exciting challenges that this new role will bring. My predecessor and the teams in the three local offices have clearly forged strong links with their communities and I look forward to building on these."
