Stirling abandons Diploma teaching
Stirling University School of Law is no longer to offer the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, the university has announced.
The decision, which takes effect from next academic year, has been made due to a fall in applications for the course.
Professor Douglas Brodie, Head of the school of Arts and Humanities at the University of Stirling, said the university would invest in increasing the number of Masters courses in law.
He commented: "By disinvesting in this programme, which is provided across a range of other institutions, Stirling will be able to reinvest in current undergraduate programmes by increasing the range of options available at honours level and to launch a suite of new Masters programmes in law for entry in 2012-13."
