HBJ Gateley appoints corporate partner

Law firm HBJ Gateley has promoted corporate specialist Murray Jack to partner.
Mr Jack, who joined the firm in April, has specific expertise in M&A and venture capital, particularly among high-growth tech companies, startups and spinouts. He is based in the firm’s Glasgow office and leads the corporate team there. His experience also includes advising listed companies and private equity funds.
He will work as part of David Kirchin’s team. Mr Kitchin recently became overall head of corporate with responsibility for both that team and the firm’s banking practice.
The firm has also appointed banking expert Euan Cluness as a senior associate in Edinburgh. Joining from DLA Piper, he will take a lead role in growing the banking team across both the firm's offices. Part of his remit will be to grow the firm’s presence among the increasing number of companies turning to alternative funding sources such as invoice finance.
