13 May 2013

The new UK Green Investment Bank (GIB) has appointed Euan McVicar as its general counsel, it announced today.

Mr McVicar is currently a partner in the Edinburgh office of law firm Pinsent Masons, where he specialises in the financing and development of energy projects as well as related M & A activity. He was with McGrigors prior to the merger with Pinsent Masons last year.

Based at the bank’s headquarters, also in Edinburgh, he will be responsible for advising GIB on all its legal activities and will report to the bank’s CEO, Shaun Kingsbury.

Mr Kingsbury commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Euan to the Green Investment Bank team as our general counsel. He brings exactly the right blend of clean energy and legal expertise to support our growth and development. He is one of the UK’s most accomplished and respected specialists in our field and will play a central role in the ambitious plans we have for the bank.”

Euan McVicar added: "I look forward to joining Shaun and the team and getting started on the vitally important work of GIB in helping the UK transition to a more sustainable, greener economy."
