Further Tumbling Lassie dates set for coming month
Three further Tumbling Lassie events, in Dundee and Perthshire, have been announced by the Faculty of Advocates, ahead of next month's big fundraising ball.
This Thursday, 12 September, Alan McLean QC, chair of the Tumbling Lassie Committee, will give the opening lecture of the new session of Lifelong Learning Dundee, telling the story of the Tumbling Lassie and slavery in Scotland, past and present. Entry is free but donations to the Tumbling Lassie appeal will be welcomed.
The Tumbling Lassie operetta, by Alexander McCall Smith and Tom Cunningham, will be performed in a double bill with their other work, Fergus of Galloway, at The Stables, Abercairny, Perthshire, at 7.30pm on Saturday 28 September, and a matinee at 3pm on Sunday 29 September. Tickets are £15 with proceeds going to the Tumbling Lassie appeal and the Friends of Innnerpeffray Library.
The ball, the biggest anti-trafficking and anti-modern slavery fundraising event in Scotland, is on Saturday 5 October, at The Stables, Prestonfield House, Edinburgh.
