DLA Piper forms dedicated health care team

Associate Caroline Stockwell will spearhead health and social care initiative

DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (DLA Piper) has announced the formation of a dedicated Scottish health and social care (HSC) team.

The news comes as Caroline Stockwell, associate, joins DLA Piper. Caroline will spearhead the HSC initiative in Scotland and is based in Edinburgh and London. She previously worked in DLA's regulatory practice where she specialised in health and safety law.

DLA Piper is currently advising a wide range of clients from large corporate providers to individually-run care homes and independent hospitals on issues such as registration requirements and compliance with CSA registration, through to sheriff court appeals and challenges to the Scottish Care Commission under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001.

Caroline Stockwell's appointment makes the Scottish team six strong. The team is set to grow further and will be supported by the London-based practice.

Paul Ridout, HSC Practice Partner with DLA Piper said: "We are delighted to welcome Caroline back to DLA Piper. Her regulatory expertise combined with her knowledge in the application of environmental and health and safety law in care homes really compliments that of the existing team."
