Introducing the Trainees and Newly Qualified Solicitors Society (TANQ) of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow

TANQ, the “Trainees and Newly Qualified Solicitors Society”, has been set up under the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow to provide a support network and advice forum for those who have just embarked on their legal career, or those who have entered into a new area of law. TANQ aims to help those who find it difficult, once they finish the Diploma, to keep up to date with the law and also keep in touch with other trainees.

TANQ operates at present by way of seminars and social events, held in the Royal Faculty’s city centre premises, 12 Nelson Mandela Place. The seminars are intended not only to educate but to offer practical advice to everyday problems or perceived difficulties facing novice lawyers, who are invited to submit in advance any questions or issues they would like addressed.

TANQ’s next seminar is on 25 April, an update on employment law by Marie MacDonald and her team from Miller Samuel LLP. The talk begins at 6.30pm and is free of charge. A social event will be held on 1 June.

Committee members are Amanda Benstock, Pauline Greene, Ruth Johnston, Stacie Lees, Joanne McIvor and Lynsay McKenzie. They can be contacted via TANQ@rfpg.org .
